Full time 2-0
Tranmere started the game with great tempo witch led to them getting a goal within 5 minutes they kept momentum up and scored again 9 minutes later we kept the pressure on till half time to go in at the break 2-0
We came out 2nd half and conceded after just 6 minutes but then we was ruthless in going back up the other end and getting a 3rd to put the visitors out of sight but a decision by the referee led to a free kick and a goal to lift the away team tranmere soon put a nail in the coffin by netting a fourth goal to finally seal the match hopefully now this can kickstart the season,we hope to keep the players fit and raring to go hopefully the new signings we've just brought in can left the whole squad and give us that push we need to get back we're we belong.
Tranmere pre-season title favourites came into the game on the back of only 1 point from the last two away games.
Two changes for Tranmere today. Hughes and McDonagh come in for Norburn and Cook who drop to the bench. In Cook’s case disappointing for some Tranmere fans. Last year’s top scorer is a fans favourite at Prenton Park.
The referee gets the game underway and Tranmere where straight away on the front foot applying pressure to the Halifax goal and gaining early corners.
After 5 minutes Tranmere’s early pressure pays off, when good work down the right by Motley-Henry leads to Jay Harris dropping a cross into the box and Norwood got in front of his marker to steer the ball into the far corner. 1-0 to Rovers, the best possible start.
Norwood could have had a second good as early as the seventh minute; however it was cleared by Halifax.
Tranmere’s continued pressure is rewarded on 14 minutes. A deflection from Hughes allows the ball to break into Norwoods path. Despite appeals for offside Norwood slots the ball into the back post. 2-0 to Tranmere!
A number of missed opportunities were hit at the Halifax goal. Jennings, McDonagh and Norwood all going close when maybe they could have done better. Twenty five minutes into the game and Cole makes his debut for Rovers by replacing Norwood who required stitches for a nasty looking head injury. Lots of disappointed fans, with no hatrick opportunity for Norwood.
The second half starts slowly with only McDonagh’s deflected shot bringing the home crowd to their feet.
On the fifty first minute poor defending from a conceded corner led Halifax’s Matt Brown to score a goal 2-1. The home crowd are now nervous.
Nerves were quickly calmed as less than a minute later good work down the Tranmere right led to a debut goal for Cole. The ball confusing the Halifax keeper and rolling past his legs. The Rovers crowd go wild.
Tranmere then on 58 minutes take complete control of the game. Motley Henry confidently slotting the ball past Johnston and into the back of the net. The crowd once again cheer. Motley Henry celebrated his first goal in front of the Kop, he is a fan favourite with his quick and enjoyable performances.
With 4 goals in the bag Duggan is booked for coming together on the Halifax number 7, who dived to win a free kick on the edge of the box. This leads to a Halifax goal which deceives Davies and flies into the back of the net, Halifax rushed to retrieve the ball.
Cole receives a standing ovation from the home crowd after an impressive debut, when Cook is welcomed onto the pitch.
The referee brings the game to an end and the Rovers fans bring the noise and leave happy with the band playing.
Motley Henry got my vote for man of the match because his overall performance was amazing. Well done Dillon!
On to the cup now for Tranmere, with a difficult game ahead against Peterbourgh at London Road. Then back to league action against Dagenham and Redbridge at Prenton Park on the 11th November.
The players walked out on to the pitch with the crowd going wild for the 3 o’clock game of Tranmere Rovers Vs FC Halifax Town. The game started with Jay Harris passing the ball to Jeff Hughes who then played a long ball up field with a foul against Tranmere who won a free kick, Liam Ridehalgh took it and whipped the ball to the far post were James Norewood couldn’t connect to the ball and it went out of play for a Tranmere throw. A long throw to the box were Tranmere connected and a flick to the post were James Norewood headed it in to make it 1-0 to Tranmere in under 5 minutes. The 2nd goal was scored by Tranmere in the 13th minute by a great counterattack and it is 2-0 Tranmere. In the 25th minute Larnell Cole made his Tranmere debut by coming on for James Norewood, he played well on the right but the remaining first half was uneventful.
Halifax kicked off the second half but straight after the first kick a Halifax player purposely hit a Tranmere player and was immediately given a yellow card. In the 51st minute Halifax scored by some great build up work. Immediately Tranmere were 3-1up in the 52nd minute when Larnell Cole scored a great goal on his debut in the bottom right-hand corner. 5 minutes after Cole scored Tranmere scored a forth by Dylan Mottley-Henry, making it 4-1 to Tranmere. Ten minutes after this Halifax Town scored and made it 4-2, the final score.
Tranmere sealed the win and got the three points that they needed to move them to 14th place in the league table and in my opinion it is the best they have played so far this season.

Tranmere suffer another defeat in local derby against rivals
Match report by Brooke Piggott at Prenton Park
The two teams started the game fast both looking to score the first goal.
On 4 minutes Conner Jennings received a yellow card for a foul and then on 11
minutes Sam Wedgbury went into the referee's book as well and followed that 3
minutes later with a foul on Jay Harris receiving a second yellow leaving Wrexham
down to 10 men.
Tranmere then looked to take advantage, a deflected shot hitting the post.
Then two free kicks for Rovers within a minute came to nothing and 3 minutes later
a curling shot was inches away from the Wrexham goal.
James Alabi’s touch let him down when in a good position to score on 26 minutes
however he almost redeemed himself 7 minutes later with a fantastic shot forcing
the Wrexham goalkeeper into a good save.
Ollie Norburn had two shots that went way wide and may still be travelling now.
Not much happened in the final 7 minutes of the first half as Tranmere seemed to
run out of ideas.
Tranmere looked a lot brighter starting the second half with a Conner Jennings
header coming close. Wrexham continued to defend under pressure however the
deadlock was broken in the 53rd minute when James Alabi headed in from a
confusing corner routine with the goal being disallowed for the crosser Jack Dunn
being offside. Wrexham were looking dangerous on the counter attack and took
the lead in the 58th minute from a corner which fell to Holroyd on the edge of the
box who hit a shot across goal with Davies only managing to help it into the
bottom corner. After the goal there seemed to be trouble with both sets of fans
with the Wrexham keeper bursting a lovely harmless unicorn balloon that had
found it’s way onto the pitch.
Andy Cook was brought on in the hope of getting Rovers back into the game.
Tranmere were slow to move the ball forward looking to break Wrexham down. Jay
Harris had a low driven shot go wide on 67’ and a couple of minutes later on 69’
the ever impressive Cook who had not stopped running since he came on was
given a yellow card as passion and frustration got the better of him.
Norwood saw a shot go wide on 70 minutes in what was turning out to be another
frustrating game for the striker as he had been moved to the right wing by the
manager. Play was stopped by the referee to allow an injured fan to be safely taken
out of the ground by paramedics which resulted in 10 minutes added time where a
mix of Wrexham time wasting and Rovers lack of attacking chances saw Wrexham
take three points at Prenton Park as Rovers suffered another home defeat.
Micky Mellon in his final statement when being interviewed after the game said ‘We
lacked the creativity in the final third to break down Wrexham today’
Rovers now have a big task turning their season around and this result was a
massive disappointment as they played a team who were down to 10 men for the
best part of 80 minutes

Game suspended for a few minutes while they get an injured fan out of the stands.

a cloudy Saturday afternoon Tranmere faced off against Barrow FC. 2 minutes in, a Barrow player takes the first injury of the game and received a free kick. After 11 minutes Andy Cook took an amazing shot at goal but sadly missed as it went to the hands of the goalkeeper.
28 minutes saw Barrow player number nine get an injury which resulted in Norwood receiving a yellow card. Unfortunately, that caused a fight between players.
After a tense 47 minutes of play, Barrow headed it in but was disallowed because he was off-side.
At the 54th minute mark, in a tactical substitution for Andy Cook and Jay Harris, Micky Mellon brought on Jack Dunn and making his Tranmere debut, George Waring.
Midway through the second half the #SuperWhiteArmy found their voice and Tranmere responded by raising their game. On the 75th minute Dunn tricked his way past three Barrow players but the goalie came out and smothered the ball.
Tranmere quickly regained possession and a Norwood cross is headed just wide by Waring. A great strike from Norburn was tipped past the post by Stuart Moore.
Finally 3 minutes into added time, James Norwood slammed an amazing shot into the goal ending the match 1-0!
